Kimberly R. Giuliani, Ph.D.

Dr. Giuliani is a licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist. She earned her doctoral degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and completed her residency and post-doctoral training at Yale University School of Medicine. Upon completing her training, Dr. Giuliani joined the clinical faculty at Yale as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery where she worked until relocating to Florida in 2006. Dr. Giuliani has specialized training in a number of neurological disorders, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders and dementia. Her current area of interest focuses primarily on the diagnosis and management of Mild Cognitive Impairment and dementia. She conducts comprehensive neuropsychological examinations to evaluate patients’ cognitive abilities. This assessment is an important part of understanding whether a person’s forgetfulness is associated with “normal aging” or may reflect a more serious condition, such as Alzheimer’s Disease. Early and accurate diagnosis is important because research suggests the best time to treat dementia is early in the course of the disease process. Neuropsychological evaluations are also used to monitor the progression of symptoms over time and to evaluate whether treatment interventions are effective.
